Crystal Clear Melodies

Sometimes a bit of extravagance, or maybe a lot of it, is all you need. Music lovers out there were stunned by the beauty of this instrument, and so will you after taking the first glance at it.

The Crystal Piano is no ordinary piano; it is made entirely of rare crystals and is the world’s most expensive piano to date and one of the most expensive musical instruments ever made. Sold at auction to a private bidder for $3.22 million, this musical angel makes every note sound like pure gold. It was first played during the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008 by the exceptional pianist Lang Lang.

He mesmerized almost one billion people around the world who excitedly watched the ceremony and were overtaken by his indelible performance of Starlight. The Crystal Piano was meticulously designed by the Canadian piano manufacturer Heintzman Pianos to meet the rigorous demands that the concert required, and its magical keys enchanted the audience with such serene melodies.

That was the first and last time that the Crystal Piano was used in a public performance, and the anonymous bidder who acquired it has made piano lovers around the world beyond envious of his unique purchase. Playing a piano on its own is a thrilling and soothing experience, but playing a crystal one would definitely fill you with an exceptional musical euphoria.
