Justin Bieber has called for the sacking of a Fox News host over remarks about late rapper Nipsey Hussle.

Bieber accused Laura Ingraham of "disrespecting" Hussle after she appeared to laugh while introducing a segment about the rapper, who was shot dead last month.

Ingraham, one of Fox News' highest-profile anchors and who has her own conservative talk show, The Ingraham Angle, sarcastically described the musician as "this dear artist".

She was discussing Hussle's 2016 hit with fellow rapper YG, FDT, which includes the chorus "f*** Donald Trump".

Ingraham called the line about Mr Trump a "very creative refrain", adding that "the chorus that goes on and on, is that related to lowest unemployment ever, basically, for African-Americans?"

Bieber posted on Instagram on Thursday demanded her sacking, describing her behaviour as "absolutely disgusting".

He said: "Laura Ingraham absolutely disgusting what you did on national television. How dare you laugh in the face of a person who has passed on.

"Doesn't matter who it is. But disrespecting someone's who was a pillar in the community and did right by people?

"Did you not think about the family who just lost a love one and now have to see you mock him on national television It's absurd and you should be fired period. #repost#spreadawareness."

Ingraham has yet to respond to the criticism.

Bieber was not the only celebrity to criticise Ingraham for the Hussle segment.

Rappers The Game and Snoop Dogg were among those calling for a boycott.

A memorial service for Hussle, who was 33, was held earlier this month and he was buried at Forest Lawn-Hollywood Hills.

Eric R Holder Jr has been charged with killing Hussle outside an LA clothes shop on 31 March.

He has pleaded not guilty.
