An Heiress to a Multi-Billion Confectionery
We cannot help but love candy and the euphoria experienced when that favorite candy bar melts in our mouths, right? Candy takes us back to our sweet childhoods, and this woman is loved for being the heiress of the world’s largest candy company.
Jacqueline Mars cannot escape the legacy of her last name, as this American heiress and investor is the granddaughter of Frank C. Mars, founder of the American candy company Mars, Incorporated. She currently owns one-third of the company’s shares, and this candy heaven is known for producing confections like M&M’s, Snickers, Milky Way, and Twix- all of your favorite sugary passions.
Jacqueline’s determination was beyond conspicuous during her active years on the company’s board, as she worked diligently for 20 years and served on the board until 2016. Her current real time net worth is equivalent to $26.6 billion, and we can all agree those dollars must be sugar-coated.
Mars Inc. purchased Wrigley in 2008, and that means that Mars has ever since controlled more than half of the country’s chewing-gum industry. Jacqueline’s candy-related investments cannot be ignored, but it is noteworthy to remember that she is also passionate about art and horses. She is a prominent figure in the board of directors for the Washington National Opera, the National Sporting Library, and Fine Arts Museum.
Mrs. Mars never allowed her busy schedule and demanding work agenda to make her forget about what truly mattered to her, and that is why Jacqueline is also a benefactor of the US Equestrian Team and her foundation is dedicated to helping train American riders and harvest their talents.
Jacqueline herself owns between 15 and 20 horses in her private farm in Bedminster, New Jersey. Her horses bring her the peace and tranquility needed to escape the pressures of one’s hectic reality. Some of the horses she’s owned have even competed in the Olympic Games, and we’re guessing Jacqueline would not hesitate before acquiring herself a dozen more than she currently owns.
Yet, most importantly, she is a selfless philanthropist who dedicates her time to supporting humanitarian causes and aiding the less fortunate ones. She has even donated $1 million to Miss Hall's School, a private college preparatory boarding and day school for girls in Massachusetts.
Jacqueline Mars is the altruistic woman whose legacy puts a smile on every candy-loving child and every indulging adult. She worked for years to ensure her grandfather’s investment would live on to grow stronger, and that aspiration has definitely turned into a multi-billion success.
